So we bought a house (the one with the pool from a few posts ago) for our 15th anniversary: in Claremont, CA. The kids are registered for school and Gavin and Grace are signed up for soccer. With that settled, we are now focused on getting our Oregon home ready to sell. The big projects are finished: new siding, new paint inside and out. Right now our house is uninhabitable from the fumes of having our hardwood floors resurfaced, so we are working on the yard and the garage while staying with some friends for a few days. The house should be on the market Friday.

The boys played well at lacrosse today. I caught Dylan playing ball hog. The middies can play defense and offense. He stole the ball, ran the field and scored. Passing is over-rated. It’s actually an OK thing to do if you see an opportunity to score.

Gavin started the game in the penalty box for slashing. He said he was just “getting them back”.

In the words of Biggie Smalls we are packing up and “Goin’ goin’ Back back to Cali Cali”. Mysterious forces have combined to draw us back to California. We LOVE Portland and have made great friends here over the past 12 years, but there is a great opportunity with my same company to relocate to So. Cal. We will be moving to Claremont, which is halfway between LA and San Bernardino. Shannon’s brother and his family live there, a cousin of Shannon’s also lives there. It’s a cool, smallish, college town that looks like Berkeley with the big trees and cool bungalow type houses. They have great schools and we will be able to get a house with a pool. The area we are looking at is right up close to the mountain where the houses stop and the trails start. There is even skiing 30 minutes away in the winter.
